Features: In case of a hard drive crash besides losing data many of the software that has been installed also may be lost permanently as the license key information would be required for re-installation. This product can recover this key information from the crashed disk. Backup Key Recovery retrieves product keys for Windows, MS Office, SQL Server, Adobe products and more than 800 popular software products installed on your crashed hard disk drive. The registry files will need to be recovered first in case they are damaged. The damaged disk is connected as a secondary drive. Once this recovered file is found in the Windows/ystems32/config/software the application can recover the activation codes easily. The keys can be made available in one of several formats that include Tab Delimited Txt File (.txt), Excel Workbook (.xls), CSV Comma Delimited (.csv), Access Database (.mdb), Web Page (.html) or XML Data (.xml) file, these then can be printed out or copied to the clipboard.
Overall: Addressed at a very niche application. Besides if you do have the product codes you can always get the activation codes from the manufacturers in case of a crash. It is bit of a bother of course. But do I need another tool for specifically this purpose which can get easily forgotten in the tool-chest.
